It reflected the essence of the 90s era that Anshula grew up in, cosy, personal, and full of familiar details that evoked emotion. The idea was to move away from grandeur and instead focus on a space that felt intimate, joyful, and deeply rooted in their story. Every element on the board- from textures and colours to vintage references- was chosen to celebrate love, memories, and sentimentality.”
“During the first meeting, Anshula was clear that she wanted her Roka to feel like home- warm, nostalgic, and full of personal stories. Her brief was simple yet emotional: to create a decor that reflected her journey, her love for Rohan, and the moments that shaped her. The brainstorming sessions revolved around weaving these memories into the decor- from Rohan’s handwritten love letters to subtle nods to Anshula’s favourite 90’s TV shows. As the ideas came together, everyone collectively felt that this was exactly how the space should look- less like an event and more like a heartfelt reflection of their story.”, she adds.

Sharma shares, “The chosen venue was an indoor space, which lent itself perfectly to the intimate, emotion-driven concept. However, transforming it into a setting that carried the warmth and nostalgia Anshula envisioned came with its challenges. Every corner had to tell a story without feeling staged. Balancing aesthetics with sentiment required careful curation- ensuring that the decor felt organic, lived-in, and authentic to the couple’s personality.”

Speaking about how Anshula decided to honour her mother on the occasion, Saanya shares, “The most poignant part of the decor was a chair dedicated to Mrs Mona Shourie Kapoor. It was a quiet yet deeply powerful tribute, symbolising her presence and blessings on such an important day. The setup was intentionally subtle- a gentle reminder of her love and influence in Anshula’s life. It became the emotional heart of the celebration, grounding the entire decor in a sense of love, remembrance, and connection.”.
And as for the challenges faced to bring the vision to life, Saanya expresses, “Lighting played a crucial role in bringing warmth and intimacy to the indoor venue. The setup featured soft, golden glows and layered lighting to create a cosy, nostalgic atmosphere that felt almost cinematic- reminiscent of a 90s home setting. The photo corner, too, followed the same theme, designed not just as a backdrop but as an extension of the decor’s storytelling. It reflected the couple’s journey, offering guests a space that felt personal, emotional, and filled with love.”
