The rules that brides-to-be must follow when it comes to bridal makeup? There are no rules. We suggest - Follow your heart and follow your style. To put an expert stamp on the bridal makeup trends of 2020, we asked the same question to Samaira Sandhu. “Every bride wants to look gorgeous on her special day.  But they don’t want to wear makeup which has been overdone by the artist. The choice of makeup is very subjective. Some brides prefer full smokey eyes and nude lips while others find bright red lips to be more suitable. Brides are also very particular about their hair. While some of them ask for open bridal hairstyles, most of them prefer their hair - plaited or braided.” Like we said, No Rules! Let your style speak for yourself.

The Minimal Makeup Trend

Our Millennial Brides have sailed through the choppy waters of extravagant wedding looks and come a long way. This season belongs to the Minimal Makeup trend. Samaira Sandhu shares,  “Most of the millennial brides do not believe in wearing a lot of makeup. The perfect minimal but glamorous look for wedding celebrations can be easily achieved. One just has to be particular about what is required. For instance, if it is a cocktail party, a lot of makeup all over the face is not needed. Wearing it on just the lips and the eyes may bring out the most charismatic and beautiful look.” If minimal is your style, look no further and opt only for that which defines your personality.

Makeup products to Swear By

We know there’s a multitude of makeup brands and options available to choose from. And Instagram bloggers have the reviews of almost all of these products covered (wink). So how does one zero down on the best products for their skin? We asked the bridal makeup expert and here’s the makeup products list she swears by, “Amongst the makeup products I can swear by, there is a foundation by Marc Jacobs, Laura Mercier powder, concealers by Too Faced, Inglot gel liner, Lady Lashes, Tarte blush and Orgasm liquid highlighter by Nars.”

Makeup Tips for Brides planning Monsoon Weddings

The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 led to many wedding postponements this year. Most brides-to-be might be freaking out about handling their beauty regime during Monsoon Weddings. We have you covered! Samaira Sandhu confabs, “Yes I have heard it from people that there will be many off season weddings this year after the current crisis is over. There are many couples who have married in court as of now and they will plan a small party or some other celebration later in the year. For the brides who intend to marry during the monsoon, the suggestion is to simply keep the makeup light. It will be difficult to carry heavy makeup as the humidity during that time of the year is pretty high.” Yes, it’s that simple.

Trending Eye makeup in 2020

Your eye makeup is always worth the commitment. The right colours and brush strokes can make or break the essence of your look. Samaira Sandhu sheds light on the eye makeup trends to look out, for this year’s weddings - “A number of eye makeup looks will make it to the trending list this 2020. Bride’s who desire a natural and healthy skin can try the ‘glass skin’ trend. ‘Minimal eyes’ is also a very suitable look for them as it doesn’t include too much glitter or any harsh lines. Such eye looks blend in perfectly with the soft or pastel coloured bridal lehengas.” If you are taking notes, did you notice the no. of times we said Minimal? Take a hint. *wink

5 Lip Shades to Love

Samaira Sandhu confirms, “There are many shades of lipstick that I love. But the five I love more than the others include Ruby Woo and Twig by Mac, Candy Venom by Fenty and Bombshell and Icon by Huda Beauty.” We know narrowing down to 5 in the stunning universe of lip shades is not an easy task. If only lip shades had no expiry dates, we would keep them all forever, your thoughts?

Bottom Line - To ace your bridal makeup style this 2020, all you gotta do, is Be You.
