Finnish PM Sanna Marin's Wedding Was a Fairytale That Will Melt Hearts

The world's youngest femme prime minister, Sanna Marin of Finland just got married to her long-time beau and it was everything breathtaking. While the royal intimate wedding of Princess Beatrice amidst the pandemic was a dreamy affair, PM Sanna Marin's wedding was nothing short of a tranquil fairytale. Sanna Marin married her partner from 16 years - Markus Räikkönen, a former Finnish soccer player, on the 1st of August 2020.

The couple started dating when they were 18 years old and are now both 34 with a two and a half-year-old daughter, Emma Amali Marin. The Finnish PM took to her Instagram account to announce her wedding and share the pictures.

The wedding ceremony took place at the Kesärant, Marin's official residence. it is a picturesque seaside villa that made the wedding all the more dreamy. The wedding was attended by 40 people that only included the closes family members and friends of the couple. 

Marin's Instagram post read, "Yesterday we told each other I do. I'm happy and thankful to share my life with the person I love. We have seen and experienced a lot together, shared joys and sorrows, and supported each other in the base and the storm. We have lived together in our youth, grown-up together to be parents for our beloved daughter. Of all the people, you are the one for me. Thanks for being beside me."

The Custom-Designed Couture Wedding Dress

Sanna Marin looked oh-so-gorgeous in her floor-length ivory Christian wedding gown and Markus Räikkönen picked a classic conventional tuxedo.

The wedding pictures were captured by Minttu Saarni, a photographer based in Helsinki and Valokuvaaja Amanda Lehtola. She expressed her gratitude for being chosen to capture Marin and Räikkönen's wedding, stating on Instagram that it was “a great honour”.

The wedding dress that Ms Marin wore for her big day was from the label - Anni Ruth, a slow fashion house based out of Helsinki. Anni Ruth is known for her delicate designs and elegant unique pieces for high profile events such as the Finnish Independence Day, The Presidential Ball (Linan Juhlat) and other Finnish Gala events of bureaucratic status. The brand is known for the femme approach and is something that Prime Minister Marin stands for.

On another Instagram post, Marin has thanked her team of women - Floramore for the flowers and Atelje Pinha Heikkinen apart from her designer and photographers.
