If you want to do something different this wedding season, check out these 5 crown hairstyle tutorials that will, without a doubt, make you look gorgeous!

Don’t you feel proud when you pull off a relatively difficult hairstyle for a wedding and that too without any help? We know we do! Weddings are heavy on our pockets and a great way to save some money is making your own hairstyle and doing your own makeup. There are hundreds of hairstyles that you can find on Instagram that are quite easy.

One of the most beautiful and complex hairstyles are crown hairstyles. These hairstyles have a braid that goes around the crown area of the head, making it look like a crown.

Here are 5 crown hairstyle images and a step by step tutorial that will help you make a beautiful hairstyle this wedding season!

A classic 3 braid crown with a puff

This is a classic crown hairstyle with a 3 strand crown braid, a puff and curls with some flowers adorning the curls.

To make this hairstyle -

  1. You have to curl your hair from your ears to the tips. You can either use a straightener or a curling rod to curl your hair.
  2. After you are done curling, partition your hair in a centre part and just like the image, keep some hair aside for the crown bride.
  3. With the leftover hair, make a puff by backcombing them to give it more volume.
  4. Now it is time to make the 3 strand braid. Start from one side and braid from one end to the tips. Do the same from the other side.
  5. After you are done making the braids, stretch them using your fingers to give them some bounce and pin them on the other sides.
  6. Just like the image, decorate with flower petals that match your outfit.

A boho bouquet crown with beach waves

The next crown hairstyle is a boho bouquet with beach waves. This is a different hairstyle that is a little more complex than the last one. To make it -

  1. The first step is curling your hair. However, use a straightener to get these beach waves from the roots to the tips.
  2. Without curling from the roots, you will not be able to make a bouquet of flowers in the image. Divide your hair in a centre partition and section the hair on the crown area to make the flowers.
  3. Take each section of hair and keep rolling it to make a spiral that looks like the one in the image. Keep making these rolls until your hair looks like the image.
  4. After making the bouquet, you have to make a waterfall braid from both sides and pin them behind the rolls. Viola, your hairstyle is done!

To keep things interesting, here is a low bun hairstyle with a crown braid that will highlight all of your best features. Here are the steps to make this gorgeous hairstyle -

  1. This crown hairstyle is very simple when you learn it once. There are 2 main steps in this hairstyle.
  2. The first is to make a centre partition and leave about 4 fingers of hair from the front. From the rest of the hair, backcomb the crown area and make a low bun.
  3. The next step is making a waterfall 3-strand braid that starts from the ear of one side and stretches to the same ear.
  4. You can either braid the hair above the bun or overlap the bun with the braid.

A messy Dutch braid crown hairstyle

The next crown hairstyle is a little different than the others. While the hairstyle is open, the crown braid continues on with the curls.

  1. Just like for every other crown hairstyle, you need to curl your hair softly. The unique thing about this hairstyle is not only the long braid, but the Dutch braid as well.
  2. After curling, divide your hair into a centre partition and backcomb in the crown area.
  3. Make two Dutch braids from both sides and take a look at the image to understand the next step.
  4. Once both the braids meet, tie them together with a rubber band and make a single bubble braid from there.
  5. Decorate your hair with floral accessories to jazz up the hairstyle.

Make sure you pin all the braids carefully with bobby pins so that it stays in its place. Use a mist hairstyle that will add a shine to your hair and keep them curled for hours.
