We hosted our daughter’s wedding at The Tamarind Tree in March’26. Since The Tamarind Tree has an in-house event management arm, Tales of Tradition (ToT), we engaged them expecting better coordination with the venue.
Unfortunately, based on our experience, this turned out to be a significant mistake. I would not recommend Tales of Tradition (ToT) for event management of any occasion.

Even after the event, we met the management team and provided detailed feedback. Unfortunately, we did not sense meaningful engagement or commitment to address the concerns.
Overall, while The Tamarind Tree remains an excellent venue, our experience with Tales of Tradition fell significantly short of expectations. We hope this feedback helps future clients make informed decisions.

Tales of Tradition (TOT) turned what should have been a once-in-a-lifetime intimate destination wedding into months of trauma, disappointment, and regret. I have written proof and photos for everything stated here.
From the start, they overpromised and failed to deliver. Timelines were repeatedly missed, calls went unanswered, and communication during the most critical weeks—including the wedding week—was nearly nonexistent. Planning deliverables promised in days took weeks, if they arrived at all. Much of what was eventually shared was simply my own mood boards reused, not original planning.
I am a wedding designer myself and shared extremely clear instructions, references, and non-negotiables. These were ignored. Almost every event’s decor was wrong. Unapproved elements were added, approved elements were missing, and many details looked cheap, unfinished, or careless.
Examples include:
* Wrong flowers used despite written instructions
* Cheap, unapproved tents and furniture appearing in photos and videos
* Damaged decor used instead of fresh
* Missing mandap elements that were explicitly promised
* Lighting themes completely different from what was approved
* Religious elements added without consent or approval
Print and stationery quality was unacceptable. Items were the wrong size, poorly finished, or not used at all. Menus were forgotten. Signs were printed without approval, some with errors—including one event sign missing the groom’s name entirely.
There was effectively no wedding planner on site.
Requests during events were ignored. My husband and I had to rearrange furniture ourselves. Guest management was nonexistent—my father ended up coordinating food, vendors, and logistics instead of enjoying his daughter’s wedding. Vendors were not fed on time. Even the bride and groom were not served properly. The wedding cake was never served at all.
The only time the team was present and responsive was when demanding the remaining payment.
Costs increased significantly beyond what was originally quoted, with little transparency. Transport was claimed to be included but later added—directly impacting quality (wilted, brown flowers clearly visible in all wedding photos). Personal items belonging to us were not properly returned.
Bottom line:
Tales of Tradition lacks basic professionalism, planning skills, accountability, and respect for their clients. They failed at communication, execution, guest care, and honoring agreed-upon commitments. Weddings do not get second chances—choosing this planner was a devastating mistake.
