We choose The Purple Plate to be our caterers for our wedding which had close to 450 people coming from all parts of the world. It was the most special day for us and because we had family coming from everywhere, there was a lot of pleasure to put out the best spread we could. We as anyone met with many caterers including the usual big names in Delhi, but this was a tough decision and food at any wedding is the most imp factor. I still remember when we met Ishaan and this was on zoom because we were overseas, he not only charmed us but gave us the confidence in every aspect of the selection as well as the delivery. Ishaan went out of this way to help us with the selection of the menu, personally met with us many times to get the menu right. We were hosted by Ishaan to a food tasting at his restaurant and I still can’t get over the mutton curry and the special purple plate paneer that came on mini cookers. As a founder and operator, Ishaan, goes out of his way to perfect his food, presentation and delivery. He understands food better than anyone I have ever met, and I am a total foodie. He was there personally throughout the wedding, from start to finish, as a founder that is very rare. It’s been a year and whoever I meet and no matter from what part of the world, they absolutely rave about the food, vegetarians and non-vegetarians, both.

Food- The food was absolutely impeccable. People still talk about it, and it’s been a year. Ishaan put together the perfect menu for all our events. The Sangeet had a modern twist to it with Korean bibmak, teppanyaki counter, dim sum counter, plated deserts while the wedding had a Indian undertone to it with the best lamb, chicken, purple plate daal makhani, gulabjamuns with a shot of old monk etc., he flew in specialized vendors from everywhere including Chandigarh that did the Amritsari chole and put together this soiree of food that no one for the next 10 years will forget.

Service and presentation- Did I mention plated desserts on a conveyer belt? Ishaan is an absolute genius. The presentation was gorgeous, it looked a million bucks. He regularly refreshes the uniforms, cutlery, presentation items, that displays his food. Attention to detail shows. The service is out of the world, he made sure that the food was being served in all parts of the venue and everyone was being attended too. There was not one person who said they didn’t get a crisp hot roti/naan. He assigned my wife and I a shadow for the entire wedding and I didn’t the importance of this then, but it was a 3-day wedding with multiple events and lots of drinking, the shadow made sure I was well fed and hydrated, this is such an important thing.

Ishaan should be your choice if you want the best food, service and presentation. As a founder he takes special interest and that attention to detail shows. I wish I could do this again, but I can’t recommend ishaan enough, he’s excellent. I would be happy to speak to anyone who wants to know anything further.
