I never held a knife in a professional kitchen. I never managed service floors in a five-star hotel. My world was boardrooms, brand briefs, and the art of building narratives that actually move people.
But I grew up watching something that stayed with me always — how food could gather generations, how presentation could pause a conversation, and how the smallest detail could leave the deepest impression.
That observation, combined with two decades of strategic thinking - is exactly what I brought to Delli Delicacies.
The Background That Built the Strategist
20+ years in marketing and advertising.
That is not a small thing in this industry - or any industry.
Two decades of understanding consumer behaviour, brand positioning, customer experience, and what it truly takes to build something that people trust and return to. I have worked across campaigns, categories, and clients - and the one thing every great brand has in common is this:
They make people feel something. Consistently. Intentionally. Without accident.
When I looked at the F&B and catering space in Delhi NCR, I saw something that most operators were missing - not the food, not the service - but the strategy behind the experience. The deliberate architecture of how a brand shows up, how it communicates, how it grows.
That gap is exactly where I chose to plant my flag.
Co-Founding Delli Delicacies - 2010
When Chef Ajay Bhalla and I came together to build Delli Delicacies in 2010, the combination was clear from day one.
He brought culinary mastery - the Taj Hotels standard, the Jaypee Group rigour, the international kitchen experience that guarantees every plate is exceptional.
I brought the strategic architecture - the marketing intelligence, the brand vision, the methodical approach to building a business that does not just execute events but builds lasting client relationships and expands into new territories with purpose.
Together, we built something neither of us could have built alone.

Under my direction, Delli Delicacies has:

I have spent 23 years in kitchens, banquet halls, five-star hotels, and open-air venues across India and the world. And after all of it - every event, every menu, every late night before a big wedding - I still believe that food is the most powerful thing we offer any guest.
Not just nourishment. Not just taste.
Memory. Emotion. Theatre.
When I founded Delli Delicacies in 2010, I did not set out to build just another catering company. I set out to build something that felt like art - where every plate is a composition, every event is a curated experience, and every client feels like the only client in the world.
Fifteen years later, I am proud to say we have done exactly that.
Where the Journey Began
It started at the Premier Institute of Hotel Management - where I fell in love with the discipline of cooking.
Not just recipes. The science of it. The respect for ingredients. The understanding that great food begins long before it reaches the plate - in the sourcing, the technique, the intention.
The institute gave me structure. But it was the real world that gave me everything else.
The Career That Built the Chef🔸 Jaypee Group - Learning to Cook at Scale
My first professional kitchen was with the Jaypee Group - one of India's most respected hospitality names.
This is where I learned what it truly means to perform under pressure. Feeding 500 guests at a banquet is a completely different discipline from cooking for 10. Timing, coordination, consistency - these became second nature here.
I also learned something else at Jaypee: the back of house is where the magic is made. A beautiful event starts in the kitchen, long before the guests arrive.
Taj Hotels - Where Standards Became a Way of Life
Then came Taj Hotels - and everything changed.
Taj is not just a brand. It is a philosophy. Every dish that leaves a Taj kitchen carries the weight of a legacy built over more than a century. There is no room for "good enough." There is only excellence - or you start again.
Working within the Taj culture permanently raised my personal bar. I learned that luxury is not about extravagance - it is about nuance. The right temperature. The right garnish. The right moment of service. Details so small that guests cannot name them - but they feel them.
That feeling is what I brought back with me to everything I have built since.
The USA - Opening the Culinary Mind
Before returning to India, I had the extraordinary opportunity to work in the United States.
This chapter completely transformed how I think about food.
I was exposed to global cuisines, international service cultures, and a way of approaching food creativity that was years ahead of what I had seen back home. I worked alongside chefs from across the world and absorbed techniques, flavour profiles, and presentation philosophies that still influence my menus today.
But more than the skills - the USA taught me something philosophical: great food has no borders. A guest in Gurugram deserves the same level of culinary artistry as a guest at a Michelin-starred table in New York. The occasion and the budget may differ. The commitment to excellence never should.
I came back to India with a suitcase full of ideas - and a very clear vision of what I wanted to build.
2010 - Founding Delli Delicacies
I founded Delli Delicacies in 2010 with a simple but ambitious vision:
To create a premium catering experience in Delhi NCR that combines five-star culinary standards with the warmth, personalisation, and soul of a homegrown brand.
Not a hotel. Not a factory kitchen. Something in between - and better than both.
What began as a shared culinary vision has evolved into something I am deeply proud of - a house of artistry, where gastronomy meets design, and luxury is expressed through nuance.

After two decades of corporate catering across Gurugram and Delhi NCR, I know this language fluently. The food must impress without overwhelming. Arrive on time. Accommodate everyone. A birthday dinner for 30 people deserves the same level of thought as a 400-guest wedding. Sometimes more. Because intimate events are personal in a way that large ones cannot always be. I love these events - the chance to create something truly tailored, truly warm, truly memorable.

One of my passions is live food theatre - the chaat station that draws a crowd, the tandoor that fills the air with aroma, the live pasta counter that becomes a conversation. Food should not just be eaten. It should be experienced. This is something I have brought to Delli Delicacies from my very first event, and it remains one of the things our clients love most.
