I am placing this on record regarding my experience with Ashok Spa & Resort, where I hosted four functions — Mehendi, Engagement, Haldi, and Wedding. What was promised during booking and what was actually delivered were completely different. This is a clear case of misrepresentation, deficiency in service, and gross negligence.

Except for the food, every other aspect of their service was unacceptable.

For the Mehendi, décor was finalised in detail with the GM, Sukhdev, including a clear reference for a lilac and beige theme. What was provided bore no resemblance to what was agreed — completely different colours, mismatched setup, visibly worn-out décor, and elements covered in cobwebs. Despite being repeatedly pushed to increase the budget, the venue failed to deliver even the agreed basics. The seating provided to me was dirty to the extent that I had to clean it myself.

The bridal room situation was equally unacceptable. There was an unresolved leakage issue, forcing a last-minute room change that wasted nearly two hours. The alternate room was cramped, had only one functional socket, no natural light, and even basic utilities like the geyser were not operable within the room itself. When this was escalated to the owner, Varun Dhand, the response given was that these rooms are “only for changing” and “complimentary.” This directly contradicts what was promised at the time of booking.

The mismanagement during key moments continued. My bridal entry was not prepared despite clear instructions and multiple confirmations, resulting in chaos.

The most disgraceful part of the entire experience was the condition of the wedding stage. The entire stage — including the seating where I was supposed to sit in my bridal outfit — was covered in pigeon droppings. Not just a small spot — the whole setup was filthy, visibly unclean, and completely unacceptable for a wedding. There were pigeons actively sitting and moving around above the stage, and it was evident that no basic cleaning or inspection had been done before the ceremony.

It was so bad that I had to stop and ask the staff, in front of all my guests, to clean the stage before I could even stand there. This is beyond embarrassing — it is outright humiliation on what is supposed to be one of the most important moments of a person’s life. No bride should have to deal with something like this after paying premium prices. This alone reflects the level of negligence and complete lack of standards maintained by the property.

Most concerning is the safety failure during the pheras, where my groom suffered an electric shock due to negligent and unsafe arrangements at the vedi. This is a serious hazard and could have resulted in severe consequences. He was injured to the extent that he could barely walk afterward.

Overall, this venue charges premium prices while delivering substandard, unsafe, and misrepresented services. Commitments are not honoured, hygiene is ignored, and even basic safety is compromised.

I strongly advise anyone considering this property to think twice. Do not rely on what is promised or shown during booking — the reality can be drastically different.

Everything was really good all the arrangements apart from the decoration they didn’t adhere to complete the decoration as per the promise at the time of the wedding. It was nothing like that which was disappointed apart from that they all were in masks and gloves and taking care of all the norms and guidelines.
