When we hired them, we clearly communicated our budget. They confidently promised that the entire wedding could be “easily managed” within it. What followed was nothing but a scammy vendor game. Every single vendor quote was inflated. We ended up finding vendors ourselves, only to later learn from the caterers, decorators, and photographers that our so-called planning team had the audacity to call them and question why they booked us directly instead of routing everything through them.
Even after dealing with all this nonsense, I didn’t want my family scrambling around during the final days, so I still gave them the benefit of the doubt. Big mistake. At the first function, while my family was monitoring food, liquor, and plating to prevent mismanagement, the planning team was off to the side partying and chatting in their own little circle. Completely useless.
Now let’s talk about logistics — because apparently that’s too much to expect from “professionals.” They collected guest arrival and departure details but somehow “forgot” to share them with us or the hotel to confirm room counts. One day before guests were due to arrive, we found out (from the guests themselves, not the planners) that we needed more rooms at an already sold-out property. Imagine the panic. And on top of that, when our major outstation guests arrived a day before the wedding, not a single person from the team was present to handle room allocations or coordination.
It gets worse. Until a day before the wedding, the makeup artist didn’t even know the venue location. That’s the level of incompetence we’re talking about.
Unless you’re planning a multi-crore wedding where they can pocket a massive cut, don’t expect them to care.
Unprofessional. Disorganized. Greedy. Incompetent. Zero accountability. Zero management. Just a money-minded operation with no regard for clients on one of the most important days of their lives.
