I hired Akash through Instagram for a few wedding-related art services, including glitter art and a color canvas. As an NRI planning my wedding from outside India, I trusted him and made several advance payments based on his commitments. The glitter art and canvas were delivered at our wedding, and I had a good experience with those services.
Unfortunately, my experience with the Varmala preservation was very different.
Akash offered to preserve our Varmala after the wedding. We trusted him with this because he had successfully delivered the other artwork. He took our Varmala and other precious wedding items and later requested an advance payment, which I sent—again trusting his commitment.
After that, whenever we followed up, there were repeated reasons and delays. Eventually, he stopped responding to calls and WhatsApp messages. Our last conversation was in July 2026, and it is now September 2026. Despite multiple follow-ups and even requesting a refund, I have not received the preserved Varmala, our items, or our money back.
Because I am now back outside India, my ability to pursue this in person is extremely limited, and WhatsApp has essentially been my only way of communicating with him.
I am sharing this review so other couples can make an informed decision. My biggest mistake was trusting the process and sending substantial money in advance without having stronger safeguards in place. Please learn from my experience and be very careful about advance payments and handing over irreplaceable wedding items.
