11 Nov, 2017Our Real Wedding
I married my college sweetheart few months back. We have been in love for more than a decade now. NO words can describe the joy that this man has brought to me. The wedding was dream come true for both of us.
I and my fiancé planned our entire wedding to the last detail. We thoroughly enjoyed the process of planning and Thanks to WeddingWire for helping us with all the ideas.
It all started with colourful Haldi/Mehendi and a fun-filled sangeet followed by a beautiful day wedding.
Wedding card - The wedding card was our chance to express who we are as a couple. Being a designer myself, I always wanted it to be special and unique. So, I hand painted my own wedding card and it took almost 2 months to complete it. I wanted the invite to have a small story about us.

Wedding lehenga -
I wanted a classic red lehenga and didn’t want it to be very heavy. After 6 months of searching, I finally found my dream lehenga at wedding Asia (Ashoka hotel, Delhi). My mom understands my choice perfectly. She sat with the designer and customised the lehenga beautifully. It was “dainty bandhani lehenga” as the inner layer with traditional work all over on the upper layer. Almost every person told me telling how bold and beautiful my choice was. Most importantly I am glad, I could mix and match them and actually will be able to wear my outfit in the future.
Wedding Decor –
We wanted the wedding decor to be vibrant and colourful with some unique elements so we chose bright pink and yellow as the theme.
Stage -. We had giant paper flower decor on the stage with a florally decorated jhoola (swing) instead of traditional chairs.
Mandap - We incorporate the gota work in the mandap. The gota patti ribbons gave a distinct Indian touch and it looked beautiful.
Photos wall - Well guests love to see photos. We had an intimate experience that sheds light on our amazing story. There were pictures from our childhood - college when we were together, pre-wedding.
For the bridal entry, I ditched the pholon ki chadar and went for a floral umbrella.
